My name is Nikki Heaton Bennett and thank you for joining me here.
I am a Dedicated Integrative Psychotherapist.
Having been in private practice for over 12 years, it has allowed me to develop a wide range of training and experience
whereby I can take an individual approach to each client with their specific needs.
Psychotherapy
A confidential and private quiet space is created to enable a client to explore their areas of concern.
I contacted Nikki in March 2019 after developing severe anxiety following a horrific panic attack whilst driving late at night. This left me unable to work, drive, or be left alone in my own company – all for fear of having another panic attack. I had researched EMDR therapy, and Nikki is one of the very few in Halifax that offers this. From the first minute of the first meeting, I found Nikki to be approachable, understanding, non-judgemental and so knowledgeable. She really took the time to allow me to understand why I felt the way I did so that I could make sense of things. I looked forward to our weekly sessions. We had a clear plan for my recovery. I was set small achievable weekly goals. She was available to support me between sessions if I needed her. It’s now November 2019 and I’m so proud to say that together we’ve tackled my anxiety. I’m now a business owner and back living alone. I’m driving daily. I don’t need to see Nikki regularly anymore but I’m comforted knowing that Nikki isn’t going anywhere should I need her for anything in the future. You’re a priceless human and I’m forever grateful to you for existing. Thank you xx
I was more than a bit sceptical when I started going to Nikki, but over the course of my counselling she completely changed my outlook, my view of myself, and the way I deal with life events. I can genuinely credit her with changing my life, and I frequently recommend her skills to friends and colleagues.

Nikki enabled me to value myself and my abilities and make better choices. Fiona
I found Nikki to be very humanistic, making me feel comfortable and psychologically safe to share my pain and anguish.
Nikki assisted me to process past traumas that were holding me back and identify to mindfully deal with issues as they come up so that it doesn’t create subconscious pressures.
Nikki helped me to heal, build my resilience and feel confident again and I have no hesitation in recommending her.
I found Nikki after having a bad experience with my then therapist. I had lost trust in her so was a little apprehensive about a new therapist.I need not have worried. Nikki made me feel at ease and very reassured that I had chosen the right person to help me.I had already started to look at my past and knew I needed to investigate further.Nikki assessed my needs and went to work. I am amazed by the results. The work was difficult at times. Delving into past hurts is never easy but Nikki was always there and reassured me the process was working and I would start to heal. She was right. I feel great and life is so settled. I feel at peace with my past. I know Nikki will always be there for little tweaks as things pop up.I highly recommended Nikki. How ever great the hurt there is a solution.
At our very first ‘meeting’ I immediately warmed to Nikki and felt at ease (I have had counselling previously which hasn’t worked for me). Nikki’s approach was to actually get to know me first and to find out about the whole of my life which nobody has ever done before. During our sessions going forward, we did some EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy which was new to me but I already felt that I could trust Nikki. She is a lovely, genuine, warm, compassionate lady whom I would not hesitate to recommend to anybody. Should I hit another ‘bump’ in this road I will immediately contact Nikki.
